MASTERS FENCING at ALBANY last weekend.

It really was fantastic to get out of the city and down to friendly Albany for a very pleasant weekend.

There were eight entries for foil, three for sabre and four for epee - with a very small rent-a-crowd! The competition and atmosphere was very pleasant and the venue excellent. Enjoyed by all. We met as a group for one or two restaurant occasions. Other than that, the families took the opportunity to have a bit of a holiday.

CHENNAI (INDIA) 24th - 29th January 2006

Cavs is proud to support Chloe Rossetti and Nic Jenzen-Jones as they move further into the International arena. After success in New Zealand last year, they are now in India and definitely making a name for themselves at this new level of fencing.

Chloe has reached 5th (out of 26) in Women's Sabre and Nic has reached 12th (out of 30) in Mens Sabre. These are fantastic results.

Note that Australia has taken 7 'top-eight'places so far and has done exceptionally well in Mens Foil.

Championships were held - January 17th - 20th

Six fencers from Cavs joined the WA group of 12 to compete in most events.

Jake Miller, James Penny, Nic Jenzen-Jones, Chloe Rossetti, Samantha Passmore, Elizabeth Pedler, David Jones and Alex Hey.

Highlight Gold !! Chloe Rossetti won gold for the Under 20 Women's Sabre. A fantastic win for WA and, of course, for Cavaliers.

Congratulations from all Cavs members to Chloe who has worked hard to achieve this wonderful result.

Highlight Gold !! The Mens Sabre team (J-J, Nguyen, Cross) took Gold against the QLD team in a close match 45 - 43
